Being a driver of growth across different industries for decades, the potential benefits of certification for events industry providers clearly presents highly valuable returns.
AN ESSENTIAL TOOL – A principal method for decision-making and risk management, certification helps understand business requirements, ensure quality assurance, and keep up-to-date with best practices in unprecedented times.
COMPETITIVENESS – Certification to internationally-recognised hygiene standards, tailored to the events and conferencing world, can provide a competitive advantage in an industry where many players are still unaware of the latest requirements.
SAVINGS – Organisations can save time and money by selecting an independently certified and therefore safe supplier. Certification can also help you avoid problems like inefficiency, wrong conduct and punishment.
CONFIDENCE – Using independent certification to carry out a thorough and independent evaluation helps venues, organisers and suppliers demonstrate due diligence and instils confidence for the supply chain around the event or conference.
PEACE OF MIND – Evidence-based assessments are carried out in compliance with best practices to limit failure of hygiene measures and mitigate concerns of both delegates and other stakeholders attending conferences and events.
At Safe2Attend, we strongly believe that all of the above benefits are more ESSENTIAL than ever in a world affected by COVID-19.
Everyone is in agreement that, going forward, the events world will need to change, adapt and embrace new and safer practices. While this prediction may be accurate, changing one’s attitude may not be enough on its own to restore confidence in physical and/or hybrid events in our ‘new’ world.
That’s why getting your event business or venue certified by an independent body is a great idea – ESPECIALLY NOW!
We say “especially now!” because of the two recent developments that have stirred up a lot of encouragement for the events industry:
Firstly, on 23 November 2020, the UK Government announced its COVID-19 Winter Plan which signals the beginning of the return of the Events Industry. According to the Plan, “the Government will also introduce spectator capacity limits [of up to 1,000 indoors] for sports stadia, business events and live performances” in areas under Tier 1 and Tier 2 restrictions.
And secondly, on 2 December 2020, the UK Government accepted the recommendation from the independent Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to approve Pfizer/BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine for use.
While both of these developments have given hope to all of us for the reopening of in-person events, things will not change overnight. According to the Winter Plan, social distancing will continue to be mandatory, and businesses will be required to adhere to hygiene and virus control best practices.
What will be required to rebuild industry confidence is a complete and effective framework for Hygiene and Virus Control.
Developed by a team of professionals with years-long experience in organising successful international events, Safe2Attend™ Certification provides that much needed framework for businesses to operate while keeping the health and well-being of staff, attendees and others in the events industry very much in focus.
Safe2Attend™ Certification does that by proving that best practices (and applicable laws) in hygiene and virus control have been considered, documented, implemented and are being followed so that third party companies and attendees to events have confidence that well-being of individuals is being properly managed.
To get ahead of the competition through caring and due diligence; venues, organisers and suppliers of physical and hybrid events can seize this great opportunity by acquiring the Safe2Attend™ Certification Standard to take the first big step toward independent certification.
