The Safe2Attend™ Standard provides a framework for the event industry to operate while effectively managing hygiene and virus control.
Description
The Standard is based on advice and best practices as defined by the events industry, by local, regional and national governments and by national and international organisations such as Public Health England, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDPC) and the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The Standard comprises two sections:
- Principles – elements with which all Certified parties must comply.
- Requirements – elements that apply to certain businesses, operations or situations.
The Principles reflect a company’s strategic approach to hygiene and virus control, they include:
- Policy statements
- Commitment from leadership / management
- Assessment and audit processes
- Documentation management and use of the Certification
The Requirements describe what is done at an operational level to ensure hygiene and virus control, they include measure to manage:
- Personal Safety
- Social Distancing
- People Management
- Other Identified Risks
Each business applying for Certification chooses which Requirements apply to its operation.
Once completed, the documented policies and processes provide an effective framework for businesses to operate while keeping the health and well-being of staff, of attendees and of others in the events industry very much in focus.
